CHALLENGE:

We were tasked with creating a promo film for the Prime Volleyball League for Sony LIV India — but the real challenge wasn’t just announcing the tournament. It was changing perception. Volleyball in India is often misunderstood as a slow, casual, ‘mohalla’ pastime. Our brief was to shatter that notion and reintroduce the sport to Indian audiences — especially younger viewers — as a thrilling, high-intensity spectacle played at a world-class level.

CONCEPT:

To bridge this gap in perception, we crafted a narrative that starts with familiar stereotypes — the uncle who says it’s “easy”, the aunty who sees it as a picnic game, and the kid who’s only seen it in the park. Each of these misconceptions is immediately and powerfully dismantled by real, explosive action from the Prime Volleyball League — jaw-dropping dives, towering smashes, and electrifying teamwork. The contrast between perception and reality becomes the hook. With a kinetic blend of local flavour, high-octane visuals, and a bold voiceover, the film declares: Yeh hai volleyball ka asli andaaz. It’s not just a sport — it’s a statement.
